Around the world, millions of children grow up without access to even the most basic dental care and hygiene tools. According to global health data, an estimated 486 million children suffer from untreated tooth decay in their primary teeth, largely due to limited access to dental services and preventive resources like toothbrushes and toothpaste. In addition, nearly 2.4 billion people worldwide have little to no access to oral health care, a gap that disproportionately affects children in low-income and underserved communities. As a result, preventable oral diseases remain one of the most common health issues globally, impacting children’s ability to eat, learn, and thrive. Expanding access to dental hygiene kits and education is a critical step in closing this gap and ensuring every child has the opportunity to maintain a healthy smile.
